Hurricane/Tsunami

In conjunction with a hurricane, a tidal rise (tsunami) can also be expected, concurrent with high winds with driving rain. This high tidal rise and large quantities of rainwater will probably back up storm drains and generally cause flooding in the low-lying street areas. We can expect to have excess water coming down the ramp into the basement, taxing severely the capacity of the sump pumps to remove this large quantity of water. We can also expect the loss of electricity. In the event of a Tsunami, remaining building occupants are encouraged to remain on floors 3 and above. Avoid the use of elevators as power may go out at any time.

Therefore, in the event a hurricane force wind is predicted, it is strongly recommended that all businesses release their employees to reach the safety of their homes prior to the onset of heavy wind and rain, and also to permit them to take necessary steps for the protection of their private property. Prior to leaving the office, close level or blinds and if you have furniture and electrical equipment such as computers adjacent to the windows, they should be moved well back, keeping in mind there is a possibility that the window could blow in and cause severe rain damage to anything adjacent to that window.
